A live casino broadcasts a real table with a real croupier. What changes is the presentation; what stays the same is the arithmetic — and at table games that can be derived in full from the rules.
Roulette, worked out in one line
A European wheel has thirty-seven pockets. A single number pays thirty-five to one. The difference between the true chance and the odds paid is the advantage of the house, and it comes to around 2.7 %. A second zero pocket almost doubles it.
What actually differs between operators
- Table limits. Minimum and maximum stake per table, and how many tables there are at all.
- Studios. Which live table providers are carried and in which language the table is hosted.
- Bonus weighting. Live tables often count ten per cent towards wagering, or not at all.
- Side bets. Additional stakes with a calculation of their own, usually a markedly worse one.
Three of these four points stand on the casino's own site, the fourth at the table itself. None of them is a property of the game.
The side bets are the expensive part
What the table offers on top — pairs, perfect pairs, bonus bets of every kind — almost always carries a house edge several times that of the base game. That is why they are placed so prominently.
